CARE AND MAINTENANCE OF OUR JEWELRY

The distinctive feature of bijoux and jewelry in general lies in their living and ever-changing nature, subject to interaction with the surrounding environment and the passage of time. To ensure they maintain their beauty and integrity over time, it is essential to handle them with the utmost care and attention.
Often crafted from a combination of materials including metals, semiprecious stones, resins, plastic, pearls, and glass, it is advisable to avoid storing them in close proximity to one another to prevent scratches and potential chemical reactions that may compromise their shine and aesthetics. A recommended approach is to assign each piece of jewelry a dedicated case, such as a bag or individualized box, bearing in mind that each material requires specific treatment, sometimes incompatible with others.

SILVER
Silver, known to be prone to oxidation, requires particular attention, especially in marine environments or very humid environments.
It is therefore advisable to periodically clean silver jewelry by immersing it in warm water with a gentle detergent and occasionally polishing it with specific products available on the market. For settings, it is advisable to use a toothbrush with natural bristles to avoid scratches. Thorough rinsing and drying are crucial to maintaining the jewelry’s luster. In some cases, the “oxidized” effect may be desired to highlight specific details of the bijoux, thus it is advisable to avoid overly invasive cleaning and polishing.

METALS
Metals may suffer damage from contact with cosmetics, detergents, hair sprays, and sweat. It is advisable to avoid wearing them in sulfurous waters chlorinated pool, seawater.or before applying perfume or hair sprays.

NATURAL STONES
Natural stones may evolve over time, increasing surface porosity or varying in color intensity. To keep them in good condition, it is advisable to wrap and gently rub them with a soft cloth periodically.
